Cumulative Environmental Risk in Germany

In 2017, I was awarded a Fulbright Specialist grant to conduct research on social conceptualization and policy development on cumulative environmental risk in Germany. My experience opened new avenues for comparative research on structural racism and environmental health.

I returned to Germany while on sabbatical in 2023 to conduct research on the perspectives and insights of the challenges faced by minoritized communities in Germany (particularly Afro-German communities) in relation to environmental justice and health inequities. My research also addressed strategies for addressing these issues and promoting positive change.

The US State Department has featured my Fulbright achievements on their website as an exemplary cross-cultural/academic exchange and invited me to present to the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
